Stephanie S. – Hospital Director, CVBL

Hi and Welcome to Queen Creek Vet! After leaving a college program I was left struggling with what I wanted to do when I grew up. One day while watching Animal Cops my (now husband) said “well you are always watching these show, why don’t you work with animals”. The next day I applied to any rescue I could find and shortly after, began working at HALO Animal Rescue in Phoenix. A few years later I was ready to learn the more medical aspect of animal welfare and was hired at veterinary hospital in Scottsdale. Over my 8 years at that location, I helped it grow from 4 doctors to 10 and eventually become a 24 hour emergency practice. I loved having the opportunity to learn all areas of the hospital and that the veterinary field is never boring. In 2019, I was offered the opportunity to become the Hospital Administrator at Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic and enjoy all the challenges and problem solving that leadership offers. I have a passion for educating clients and helping owners make the best decisions for their pets.

My home is a busy one with 2 young kids and 4 dogs. My pups are aging now, but in their younger years my French Bulldogs Thor and Raylee were trick dogs and did several ad campaigns, a commercial and a small extra role in a movie. In human form, my terrier mix Johnny would be an grumpy old man, sitting on his porch yelling at kids to get off his lawn. Honor, the Bernese Mountain Dog, is the sweetest most mellow pup who does no wrong, unless you leave something tasty out on the counter. 😉 With the little free time I have, I enjoy gardening, creating Pinterest fails, bike rides and lounging in the pool. In the cooler months I enjoy hiking and paddle boarding at the Salt Rive and Canyon lake.

Kaitlynn – Hospital Administrator

Kaitlynn joined the Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic team as a technician in October of 2019. Before joining us she attended and graduated from Pima Medical Institues Veterinary Technician program. She shares her home with several cats named: Jelly Bean, Peep, Petunia, Simba, and Tinkerbell, as well as three dogs. Dolly and Dilbert, American Pitbull Terriers and Sadie is a Australian Kelpie and Cattle Dog mix.

In her spare time Kaitlynn enjoys spending time with her family. She often takes her fiance and kids on day trips around Arizona or spends her weekends camping. Kaitlynn is excited to learn more about all areas of veterinary medicine and is especially interested in canine and feline dental cleanings. She has taken over ordering inventory and supplies (not easy with the frequent back orders in vet med!) and monitoring drug logs.

Ashlyn – Hospital Administrator

Ashlyn grew up in Southern California and moved to Arizona in 2019. In CA she volunteered for a shelter and fell in love with caring for pets in need. She loves fostering “bottle baby” kittens and has raised over 100 as a foster mom. She attended Mount San Antonio College’s RVT program and plans to further her education at University of Arizona’s Vet program to become a equine and livestock vet. Ashlyn’s long term plan is to breed and raise Friesian horses.

At home Ashlyn has a houseful of animals including two Pitbull Terrier’s named Helios and Zeus and a Doberman Pinscher named Jupiter. Her cats are named Seline, Hades, and Athena. She also has a Ball Python named Katana and Ferret named Ramon. When she is not at work or hanging out with her pets she loves to read, paint and ride horses.

Jen – Hospital Administrator

Jen was born and raised Arizona but dreams of living by the ocean, or in a Disney castle. Jen has a huge love of German Shepherds, and her own Kratos, Corvus and Floyd, keep her busy! Other than her passion for animals, she is very passionate about everything Disney.

Jen and her husband spend their free time doing anything Disney related. They love spending quality time with their fur babies, family and friends.

Jen always wants to make people smile and finds a way to help anywhere she can. She has worked in the animal field for 10 years in a variety of jobs ranging from boarding facilities to veterinary hospitals.

Karla – Veterinary Technician Lead

Karla was born and raised in Arizona and moved to Queen Creek in 2017. She attended PIMA and graduated in January 2020 before joining us at Queen Creek Vet. She loves learning new things each day and plans to further her veterinary knowledge by going back to school to specialize in behavior and training.

Karla has a young German Shepherd named Lola and a 8 year old Chihuahua named Chuchi. In her free time she enjoys doing makeup, being outdoors and spending time with her family.

Monica – Veterinary Technician Lead

Monica completed her externship from Carrington College at Queen Creek Vet in December of 2020 and joined our team right after! From a very young age she developed a love of being around animals and knew that vet medicine would be a great fit for her. She loves helping make puppy and kitten’s first visit memorable, and keeping them healthy. She likes being a part of the QCVC team because it’s a great enviornment, caring co-workers, and the numerous opportunities to continue learning.

Monica shares her home with 2 cats named Kiwi and Moo and 3 small dogs named Didi, Jax and Charlie. Didi is her heart dog and spirit animal. 😉 She enjoys travel and given the chance, Monica would travel back in time to groove out in the 80’s.

Celeste- Client Services

As a customer service representative, Celeste is one of the first people you will meet when visiting our hospital. She is a Arizona native and joined our team in early 2021. She is a self professed “cat lady” and has three sweet rescue cats at home. Freddie, Kodak and Mac are the best cats a girl could wish to have.

She chose to explore working in veterinary medicine because of her love of animals and wanting to learn everything about them and their care. She chose QCVC after coming in as a client and meeting the knowledgeable team and feeling the good vibes of the hospital. Her favorite part of work is cuddling all the cute pets coming to visit, learning about animal health and playing a part in helping pets feel better.

Outside of work, Celeste enjoys doing makeup, watching TV, and hanging out with my friends. Celeste and her hubby can be found eating pizza while re-watching episodes of One Tree Hill for the 100th time, and of course laughing at the silly cat’s antics. Her spirit animal is a Turtle because they are chill, and go with the flow. Given the chance to hug a panda bear or a koala, she’d hug the panda because they look like giant fluffy pillows.

McKenzie – Client Services, Veterinary Technician

Hi, I’m McKenzie! I graduated from EVIT studying veterinary assisting and am currently enrolled at ASU. I joined the Queen Creek Vet team in Jan 2022 and have enjoyed putting my schooling to use! I chose to work in veterinary medicine because I love to help animals feel better so they can have a long, healthy life with the owners that love them. I love the positive atmosphere and teamwork that Queen Creek has offered me as I begin my career.

At home, I have two dogs. Shadow is a mystery mix and Lucky is a rhodesian ridgeback and labrador mix. My spirit animal is a Wolf, because of their protectiveness, teamwork, socialization with others, loyalty and curiosity. If I had a chance to hug a Koala or a Panda, I’d have to choose a Panda. My favorite Disney character is Belle, she’s been my favorite princess since forever for being brave, honest and shy. My favorite food is homemade Mac and Cheese, yuuum!

Morgyn- Veterinary Technician, Inventory Manager

Morgyn joined the pack in 2022. She chose QCVC after bringing her pets in for care and seeing how each technician and vet cared for her and her pets. While attending PIMA Medical she completed a externship with us and soon after joined us as a receptionist while continuing her technician training. She chose to work in vet med because she wants to help those that do not have a voice. She is excited to continue learning to become a veterinary technician.

Given the choice between hugging a panda or a koala, Morgyn would choose the Panda because they look like really good huggers. If she had to choose between giving a cat a pill or doing a nail trim on a pug- she would choose to do the nail trim ;). Her favorite Disney character is Olaf from Frozen since he is always happy and likes being around those he loves.

Emily – Veterinary Technician, CVT

Emily chose Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic for her extern site while attending PIMA Medical Institute. She enjoyed seeing all the different types of cases and surgeries and “officially” joined the team after graduation. She is continuing to study to earn her CVT as well as earning a Bachelors in biology. She chose a career in vet med because working with animals has always been her passion. She stays because she likes making a difference in the community by helping people help their pets.

At home Emily has a house full of pets. Spudkins (a Catahoula German Shepherd mix), Scallywag (Australian Shepherd), Kronk (Pitbull mix) and two Chinchillas named Wheatley and Glados. In her free time she goes camping or hiking or spend time sewing. Given the choice, she would choose to be part otter due to her love of swimming. Her favorite food is Buffalo Chicken Dip, and favorite Disney character is Kronk (hence the namesake!).

Chris – Veterinary Technician, CVT

Hi my name is Chris. I am originally from S. California, but moved to Arizona in 2004. I have always loved animals and growing up I knew I wanted to work with them. Exotic pets are my
true love, especially reptiles and birds. I am a licensed falconer and have a fascination with birds of prey. I share my house with snakes, sulcata tortoises, a dachshund named Roxy, a cat named Juno, 2 rats named Tom and Jerry, and my Harris Hawk named Bravo.

In 2013 I graduated from ASU with my BS in Conservation Biology. This year I graduated from Pima Medical Institute with my AAS in Veterinary Technology. I completed my externship at QCVC and really enjoyed the experience. I look forward to continuing my education, improving my skills, and earning my CVT.

I chose vet med because I love being able to educate pet owners and help their pets live long, healthy lives. In my spare time I enjoy fishing, flying my Harris hawk, and spending time
with my kid’s exploring nature.

Autumn- Veterinary Technician

Hello, I’m Autumn! I came to Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic because one of my friends is employed here and I always wanted to work with animals, making this a perfect fit! I have many pets at home- Drogo a german shepherd, Drogon a bearded dragon, Khaleesi a husky mix, Apollo a kitty and my pet corn snake River. I joined QC vet July 2021, and have enjoyed making friends with my co-workers and helping make sure pets coming to see us are safe, healthy and getting lots of cuddles.

Outside of work I enjoy reading about quantum physics, hiking, working out with boxing and martial arts, and learning new things to expand my mind. Given the choice to pet a tarantula or a snake, I’d choose a tarantula since I already have snakes. If I could travel to any time in history, I’d choose 1955 to meet Albert Einstein. My favorite movies are How to Train Your Dragon and Anger Management. My favorite Disney character is Jim from Treasure Planet because his story is so unique, heartfelt and revolves around astrophysical science.

I’m looking forward to continue learning about animal science and learning about being a veterinary technician.

Madelynn – Veterinary Technician

Maddy (Madelynn) has been working in the field since 2018, starting as an East Valley Institute of Technology graduate and graduated from Pima Medical Institute in September 2020. She enjoys spending her free time with her friends, helping them with their animals, and enjoys reading a good book or watching a Disney movie. Maddy’s dream job is to be a Veterinarian working in conservation and rehabilitation. She has an interest in zoology and marine biology, and plans to specialize in radiology and possibly neurology.

As a member of the QCVC team, Maddy enjoys seeing the bond between pets and their owners and building relationships with our clients and their furry family members. She plans to continue expanding her knowledge and skill set, while branching out into surgery.

She is attending Arizona State (Go Sun Devils!) working towards a Bachelors of Science degree. She chose to work in veterinary medicine because of the opportunity to care for animals while making connections with pets and their owners. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is watching a pet that is seeing sick pets and helping them as they recover.

At home Krista has a German Shepherd named Jagger and a Australian Shepherd named Salem. She enjoys playing soccer, hiking and going camping. Krista’s spirit animal is a wolf. After a long day at work and studying, Krista relaxes with a bowl of Mac and Cheese and watching 50 First Dates.

Brigham- Veterinary Technician

Brigham is a Certified Veterinary Assistant having graduated Central Arizona Valley Institute of Technology’s (CAVIT) veterinary assistant program.Like so many, he has loved animals from a young age. Brig has a growing passion for surgery and working with exotic animals. He has previously owned both tarantulas and snakes! Currently, he and his new wife share their home with a African Sulcata Tortoise named Terminator.
In his free time, Brigham enjoys all outdoors man activities such as fishing, camping and hiking. His spirit animal is a Hawk. If he was able to travel to any year in a time machine he would choose the 1800’s to see the natural discovery in the USA firsthand. While he can’t pick just one Disney character (they are all so great!), one movie he can watch over and over is the live action Beauty and the Beast.

Nathan – Veterinary Technician

Hi I’m Nathan. After graduating from Queen Creek High School, I joined Pima’s veterinary technician assistant program while working at a small vaccination clinic. I completed my externship at Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic and was thankful for everything I learned during that time. After graduation I accepted a position here as a veterinary technician to learn about all areas of veterinary medicine, because I really enjoyed working with the awesome team and doctors. I chose to work in vet med because I knew I’d be able to make a difference for people by helping their pets. My favorite part of vet med is being able to help the doctors diagnose a pet’s illness by running the different tests.

At home I like to hang out with my Siberian Husky, Charli while playing video games. I also like art and wood working. My spirit animal is a Bear because I’m both protective and cuddly. My favorite movie is each of the movies in the Lord of the Rings series. If I had to choose between doing a pug nail trim or giving a cat a pill, I’d choose to medicate the kitty. 🙂

Ivy – Veterinary Technician

Hi I’m Ivy! I was briefly enrolled in EVIT’s veterinary assistant program in my sophomore year of high school but was too young at the time so I then decided to start pursuing my pre-veterinary degree at The University of Arizona in my Junior year. Studying at UofA and handling the animals on the farm helped encourage more of my love for caring for animals. I moved back to East Valley in 2022 and still continuing my Bachelors in Biology with an emphasis in organisms to work towards my goal of eventually enrolling in Veterinary Medical School. In early May of 2023 Queen Creek Veterinary Clinic hired me on as a Veterinary Technician and I have been incredibly grateful for the experience and opportunity to work in my first Veterinary Clinic and to learn more hands-on skills. In my spare time when I am not studying I absolutely love writing and even have had a couple works published in the past. Overall, if I get to spend time with my pets it improves my day and I am looking forward to taking care of your furbabies too!

Karalyn – Veterinary Technician

Karalyn first joined Queen Creek Vet in 2019, beginning with caring for boarding pets before moving into a veterinary technician role. She left briefly to work in a different field, but just missed veterinary medicine so much that she decided to come back soon after. Karalyn is one of our weekend technicians, and if you are ever here for Work Ins on Sunday, it’s likely that Kara is helping to assist your pets.

In her limited spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her dogs and horse riding. Kronos is a large Mastiff and Freyja is a squishy English Bulldog. Her other hobbies include spending time with family and friends.
